The people
Team
Two laboratories, six researchers — experts in Riemannian and differential geometry, machine learning, statistical signal processing and remote sensing.
Co-chairs
Nicolas Le Bihan
Directeur de Recherche CNRS · GAIA, Gipsa-lab UMR 5216, UGA
Geometric processing of multivariate signals, with emphasis on bivariate signal analysis and polarization-aware algorithm design. Principal investigator of the ANR RICOCHET project (2022–2026).
Guillaume Ginolhac
Professor · LISTIC, Université Savoie Mont Blanc
Statistical learning based on Riemannian geometry and robust statistics, applied to remote sensing — SAR imagery and time series in particular. Principal investigator of the ANR ASTRID MARGARITA project (2018–2022).
Members
National collaborations
- Florent Bouchard & Frédéric Pascal — DataIA, Univ. Paris-Saclay. Riemannian geometry, robust statistics; joint work on WP2 and WP3, pooling resources with the DataIA chair “Pre-trained Models for Health Data”.
- Julien Flamant — multivariate signal processing; collaboration focused on WP1.
International collaborations
- Esa Ollila — Aalto University, Finland. Robust multivariate statistics and optimisation; mainly WP2.
Two PhD students and one postdoc will join the team — the first positions open in October 2026.
